Daily Market Review
After a volatile trade day, China's A-stock saw a V-shape move in afternoon session and ended mixed in shringking volume Wednesday with another day of sharply divided move while small-cap tech names greatly outperformed large-cap blue chips this time.
Unlike the divided move in previous 2 days, the performance of large-cap blue chips and small-cap tech names reversed today, with SSE 50 index falling 1.19% and ChiNext index rising 1.46% on Wednesday. The severe turbulent move today did imply investors' unsettled confidence near the year end. The accelerating funds outflow via Shanghai - Hong Kong connect (north bound) this week, which recorded 6.977 billion yuan, also signalled that Hong Kong investors started to pocket their decent profit on large-cap blue chips as well.
Shanghai Composite dipped 0.29% to 3293.96. Shenzhen Component gained 0.52% to 10911.33. ChiNext Index rallied 1.46% to 1784.31. Market volume totaled RMB393.41 billion (USD59.16 billion), shrinking 18% from Tuesday. Winners outnumbered losers by 2400-to-739.
